Today was my last before I headed back into Long Pasia and met up with alpha6 for the ride back to KK.
It was a race against time in the morning, the camp seemed to be infested with bees and everyone was trying to pack their kit before they came out, no one was quick enough and soon enough they were buzzing everywhere!
We left at 08:20 for a light 2 hour trek to the next camp, everyone had grown wise to “Fozzy’s” timings and knew it would take longer, the pace started off really well but then soon fell back into the “splart” motion (stop/start) on route we took a visit to “crocodile mound” to see where people were buried. I couldn’t quite get the story as Fozzy’s English was limited. I did get to do some crazy dancing with a parang in my mouth though. Very random!
After walking up a number of hills and down a few we got to the site at 13:00 (only 5 hours later) at this point I was looking forward to leaving and getting back to some civilisation, not that I hadn’t enjoyed it, but just good to get away from the back pains and my kit.
I had a few hours before I trekked back to Long Pasia on my own with just “Fozzy’s” and the porters. During this time I made the most of getting everyone involved in producing the “Queen Don’t Stop Me Now” video. Basically all the groups would sing the song whilst filming and I would make a video with the scenes for the end of project. They could use props and all sorts to make the scene look wacky and funny, the alpha5 was pretty good and we banged out some funny footage with the whole group in just 1 hour.

Random Socks all the PM’s wore
Dodgy Caterpillar
Just after 16:20 I said bye-bye and headed for Long Pasia. The guys are serious machines and I was almost running to keep up with their pace. What would have taken the group 4hours took us 50min, highlighting how slow we were!
The Fozz-meister! Machining it.
I was pleased to finally arrive back in the village later on and drop my bag at the “homestay” house where I would be staying for the night. I met up with the other group and had a chat before getting something to eat, surprisingly some deer and bore (not the same ones) with vegetables.
Evening Meal
Later on after having a chat with everyone and seeing the group do some crazy dancing I got into a nice mattress bed (tired once again). Transport to KK was at 07:00
happy days!
Sleeptime: 22:50
Highlight of the evening was catching a “Cicada” I had wanted to see one of these for ages, just out of curiosity. All the jungle noises and this one is the main ringleader!
